I loved this course. I am hoping to apply for a supervisor position of an analytical unit in my agency and felt like this gave me a really good understanding and base knowledge to move forward in my career.

The instructor was filling for the regularly scheduled instructor, so she had no real experience with the topic, which was disappointing. She was reading from a script. I would have preferred the class to have been cancelled and given a credit for the next scheduled time slot.

Nicole is very nice and personable. I was expecting more interactive assignments and something on leadership.

Nicole did an excellent job teaching. The course had good information and well laid out. I think my expectation of the class was somewhat different than what was delivered and maybe that is because I have been an analyst for over 20 years and wasn't expecting to have someone go over the basics of analysis with me. This was probably needed for those put in a supervisory position without the years of analytical experience. I was looking for more guidance of starting up a unit since that is what I am being tasked with within my agency.

Tops were well organized and easy to move through and follow.

I would have liked more content on the supervisory aspect of the course. Discussion seemed mostly directed towards analysts, but not necessarily how to lead a team of analysts. It would have been helpful to discuss the transition from analyst to supervising/leading a team of analysts, how to balance being a working supervising analyst, and suggestions on how to keep an analyst/real-time team engaged and accountable.

I felt this course was a bit too heavy handed in the intelligence side of analytical supervision. It is clear this is the instructor's background and expertise, but not all analytical supervisors supervise "intelligence" analysts, work in RTCC's or Fusion Centers, etc. Small agencies may not touch the intelligence side of the house and are crime analysis focused. The professional development roadmap is certainly pertinent. I was anticipating seeing the attendees names in the webinar, not just introduced in the chat that we also could not see. We could not see the exercise answers in the chat as well. Day two was more analytical supervision, but the class ended too early. I was looking more for interaction with success and challenges in being a Analytical Unit Supervisor. The resources and materials we good, I just think this course was not marketed correctly.

course offered good discussion and refresher on materials often overlooked, would have liked to see more emphasis on SOP for managing a unit, recommendations for performance evaluation, structured format for developing new analysts, recommendations for effectively dealing with communication challenges & acceptance by command staff i was very pleased with the course but felt a lot of the discussion was focused on fusion center management which is only one aspect of analytic unit supervision, the course should provide overview that covers all types of analysis supervision and management (fusion centers, state/county agencies, local police departments) - we all share similar journeys but each of our environments offer unique challenges to supervision, support, communication with sworn, etc
