Overall, I enjoyed the training. There were little interruptions of personal narration which isn't necessary. In a virtual learning environment its a bit distracting. If we were in a person-to-person it would be different. Virtual environments the learner is more attentive to gaining knowledge and unnecessary narratives are a distraction. Overall, the instructor was very knowledgeable.

I feel I need to qualify the answers above. The instructor questions need to be adapted for a class in an online environment. As most don't apply, I gave those all 3. The Final Comments section, I did answer all as Yes but, if it were just based on my experience, the answer would have been "No". The reason is that Advanced Excel is a very relative term. I was mostly interested in the Macro and Power Query topics, which I consider to be more advanced skills and coverage of those was extremely basic. While functions and nested functions are somewhat advanced, they were covered in your basic course in enough detail that a user could have gotten more advanced on their own. Since there are no prerequisites to have taken the Basic course first, I guess I should not be super critical about this. I think it would be better if there was more depth to the advertisement for the course so it would be easier for a prospective student to evaluate if the topics are above their current skill level so as to be beneficial. I realize this was the first time this class was taught, so there are always things to shake out in order to polish the presentation and have things work the way they are supposed to and to provide tips and tricks for users based on correcting the failures. This is especially true with Excel and data types. We had some issues when it came to the concatenation of dates. It would have been beneficial to have provided answers the next day for solutions to the issue(s). One thing I did not know was that another option for the concatenation of date and time is the sum function but the way it was brought up seemed to indicate that using the sum function when it comes to text is equivalent to using concatenate is not true. The next hiccup came with MACROS. I am still not sure what went wrong here but it would have been very beneficial to have come back the next day with, at least, a demonstration of what the result was supposed to have been and how, after recording a macro, it can be used/deployed afterward to help automate the task it was recorded to solve. Power Query is an amazing tool that can do amazing things to assist in cleaning data. Perhaps a way to integrate it more into this course could be to show the excel formulas then show the Power Query equivalent. That would give users a small glimpse into what Power Query can do without being overwhelming. While not specifically a class topic, the instructor expressed she did not like using tables. In my opinion, this is not the habit an advanced Excel user should espouse. In most situations formatting your data in a table provides many more benefits than drawbacks. One critique I have been mentally struggling with is on camera presentation by the instructor. I am by no means a formal person but, my first thought when the instructor was on camera was that at least a business casual appearance should be the norm. I understand the on-camera time for this course is extremely short but it was my first thought and I don't know if anyone else might feel the same. On the positive side, the instructor was pleasant and seems to have a passion for using Excel for work tasks. The mapping section was very interesting usage application, it just does not fit into what I currently use Excel for in my job duties but it is very good information to keep in the back of my mind. Charting and pivot tables are always useful but, again, I only have limited use cases for my current position. This course can be very useful for users of a certain skill set.

Good class but a lot of the exercises didn't work with my version of Excel so I just had to watch and follow along.
