I loved Ashley Englefield as an instructor and Houston HIDTA is always the perfect host/training provider, but was not very impressed with the course itself. I would love to take a course from Ashley with his own materials that is one of his courses to teach regularly. I didn't think the material he was given to work with would have been worth paying tuition for - it seemed to superficially hit on a lot of topics but focused a lot of time on things that weren't very important (like PowerPoint/public speaking tips). I learned so much more of analytical value in the Excel for Public Safety class taught by Amy Kupiszewski than this class. It felt very all-over-the-place and disjointed. I think the biggest benefit of this class was that it made analytics seem much more accessible to my sergeants and for them to realize they don't need to be intimidated or think that the analysts are so far above them in intellect, but that was largely attributable to Ashley connecting with them on a LEO level rather than the actual course material.

Ashley made what looked very technical seem easy. He was a little fast for me but I am very new to analytics. Definitely a quality teacher of this course.
