I appreciated the variety of possible opportunities to write for situations like a press release. I would have also appreciated some samples of advanced reports, that would include long term investigations.

It was useful to have the practical writing exercises so that we could practice what we were learning in the moment. It helps me a lot to be able to practice and get feedback, rather than just read examples. I also appreciated that we could email our practical assignments to the instructor, and he replied with feedback for one when I expressed that I had some trouble with it.

I got a bunch of little tidbits from the class, but I am a Crime Analyst and it didn't feel like the practical exercises related all that much to what I do. I don't know if it was just me, but I sort of had a little bit of a hard time following the instructors flow. At times it seemed to be all over the place. He seemed very knowledgeable and I would possibly be interested in a different course by this instructor.
