I wish I would have learned more about the serious side to social media. We talked about community engagement a lot which was awesome but I wanted to know more about reporting current events online to our residents (ex: shelter in place because of ___ etc.) Thanks for being so passionate!

I feel that this class may be better suited to brand new public information officers rather than those of us with more experience. I really liked his interaction with the class and I felt this was the best part. Many of the slides came with the "don't do this" or "don't be this guy" warning. While this is valuable so that we do not make the same mistakes, I think I would have liked to hear more about best practices. Agency to agency, we all deal with different community issues as well as internal issues thus creating the "environment." Even though the instructor provided many examples, some agencies may not be able to always get away with humorous posts, etc. Lastly, at times it felt that the class discussion was between the instructor and "Dan" from a nearby agency. All in all, I still think this can be a valuable class with an obviously enthusiastic instructor, but perhaps maybe add more elements of "why" and best practices. Thank you!
