My partner and I are administrators for 50+ professional and sworn staff, overall managing 60 social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and X. This course is outlined for agencies to manage their online presence for the community and build public relations. It is represented as assisting in leveraging platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and YouTube with specific marketing strategies. Unfortunately, the course did not cover the majority of topics it advertised and the instructor was unprofessional.
We did not discuss any other platform in depth besides Facebook, which had outdated information. The instructor was unable to answer questions on creating a team, policies, new case law, or professional management methods for building trust in the community. When asked questions about implementation for agencies who are in the beginning stages of social media engagement there was a diversion of the question and a "figure it out" stance without much discussion. During the breakout portions, fewer and fewer people engaged as the course continued. Additionally, one of the takeaways for building community trust was a neighborhood event where the instructor was retiring and brought liquor out to the community during the event.
I have taken courses with Police Technical before on various topics but this one fell short and was not one I would recommend to my team. I hope the instruction and presentation can be improved as this topic is now the norm for building trust with the community and law enforcement.

The information in this course we very well put together and organized. I thought the majority of this training focused on what we shouldn't post and what not to do. I was hoping for information related to increasing engagement, best practices for posting. Additionally this training had some very useful information about Facebook. I'm hoping in the future there can be more information in reference to Instagram. Over pleased with the information provided. I think because our agency is so conservative in what we are allowed to do much of the topics discussed about what not to post and or word things we are practicing.

I struggled with the content of this course, and it felt like agencies were put more on blast for what they are or aren't doing. I did appreciate hearing from other agencies but was hoping for a bit more structured content to help us grow our platform.
