The only thing I would change is getting some outlines everyone could use for the analytical products and some more examples of free resources and paid resources everyone could try to use.

This class was completely disorganized and it felt like the instructor had no lesson plan. The second day was entirely self taught with the most valuable part of the lesson being when other students went through their experiences with the class. Overall I was very disappointed in the course and felt like I was wasting my time being there.

I found the information presented in this course very helpful in my daily activities as well as a lot of "new to me" information. Overall it was a very beneficial experience. Alisa was an excellent instructor, she balanced the technical teaching with hands on practical applications, as well as offering great one on one instruction.

Alisa was very well prepared to teach and to engage the class for good discussion over analyzing and critical thinking skills. I enjoyed her class, and I will definitely recommend it. Alisa presented some scenarios during the class that was mind opening.

Instructor Alisa Leduc helped me in gaining knowledge in Excel, the examples that were given by her allowed me to see other products I can create on Excel. However, I do not feel that the instructor's method of teaching was helpful for me personally in understanding how to maneuver through the software. I would have preferred for the instructor to work through the process before hand or in conjunction with the class as a whole rather than having the students teach each other. I appreciate the extra time we had to talk about the different software's and databases. Although I enjoyed the class and the material I learned, I believe the useful information could have been taught in a one 8-hour class.

This felt 100% shot from the hip training. The information was good when we were learning but most of the time was spent in limbo as if the instructor didn't know what to do next.

I think the analytics for public safety could have been a one day course and the excel class should have been two days. Instructor seemed to be a little disorganized and created busy work because there was no other material to go over. Instructor was very willing to help, but it would have been more beneficial to help the class as a whole and not just groups at a time.

I do not feel that much was taught in this class. She had materials for the first day and the second day was just busy work because she did not have anything else for us.

Training was all over the place. I would suggest having an agenda rather than go from what a column is to a graph or pivot table as the next subject. It was a very slow class. Hard to stay focused.

I was very disappointed in the instructor for this course and her Excel course. I fought hard to get the funding to attend this course and many hours of class time were wasted. For the Analytics course Alisa did a much better job of touching on the material in the manual and presentation (for Excel we touched on maybe 20% of the topics in the student manual), but she breezed through everything, a lot of just reading the slides out loud to the class. We finished the entire slide deck by 2pm the first day. For two hours after that she asked us to create a bulletin. I'm a big fan of practical exercises and I think this assignment had a lot of potential. However, she never showed us examples of bulletins or explained what types of content they can contain, what makes a good or bad bulletin, etc. We had no context at all, she just asked us to include "who, what, where, when, and why." I don't really work with bulletins in my job, so I had to ask various classmates to figure out what a bulletin is. Alisa gave us two hours to work on them, but half the class finished early (mine was done in 45 minutes, including custom branding, images, formatting, etc.). When complete she asked us to email them to her and in the morning she would critique them. This made me nervous and uncomfortable because while I welcome constructive criticism, I didn't feel it was fair to judge our work without any explanation of what we should or should not have been doing beforehand. We were finally released at 3:45pm.
The next day this was what we ended up doing:
1. Critiques of submitted bulletins. This was gentler criticism than I was expecting, and was informative.
2. Alisa asked students to talk about any tools we use in our jobs that are free to access so we can share these tools with each other. This was probably the most helpful portion of the class.
3. We took a 10 minute break....after 1 hr and 19 min Alisa walked back to the podium and I thought she was going to start up class again, but then she walked away and continued chatting with individual students. During this time, she did go around and ask every student if there was anything we wanted her to cover or talk about, but it was frustrating because while she was talking to each person we just waited and had nothing to work on.
4. Alisa got the class going again and asked us to go around the room and say what topic we will be a subject matter expert in when we finish this training course. Some people said LPR or financial investigations, etc.
5. We went to lunch and after lunch Alisa asked us to make another bulletin, but this time an informational bulletin. Still no examples given beforehand, but this time she had us divide into three groups, so my group of 10 people "wrote" a notional bulletin on rainbow fentanyl. There wasn't a practical way for our group to allow everyone to see one person's computer screen, so in actuality like 4 people worked on the project and everyone else just chit-chatted.
6. When finished, we did show-and-tell of the three bulletins and then class was finished at 2:40pm.
It felt like there was no preparation or agenda for Day Two and we were just winging it. We heard that Alisa wanted to dismiss the class at noon that day, but Phil Hawk said that would be inappropriate hence the repeat assignment of another bulletin.
I think there was a lot of potential for this course, but it felt like shortcuts were taken for all three days (Excel and Analytics), very disappointing. I heard Alisa say on Friday that she doesn't like Excel which honestly explains a lot. I have a TON of feedback on what happened in that class too.
