Useful course liked it a lot

Good Class

I didn’t get to attend the course because I received the like after it ended. Disappointed.

I already had working knowledge of Excel but just needed a refresher on shortcuts etc. So this on-line course was a good format for those with previous experience using Excel, but I would not necessarily recommend for someone new to using Excel. Thank you!

I wish I would have taken this course or something similar year ago. I use Microsoft Excel daily in my assignment and have no formal training with the application. Taking this course showed me how much I really didn't know about Excel and gave me many useful tools/skills I can utilize on a daily basis. I have already recommended this training to everyone on my team.

We started late every day and lost an entire hour on introductions the first day. There could be a more efficient way to network with others in the class as that is important. However, I am not in class to learn about instructor's and classmates' resumes. If a student fails to prepare and shows up late, it should affect only that student, not the entire class. The hosting software did not allow for features that other platforms offer like seeing other student's comments. The title of the course should be changed and or the course materials should be changed as it was not appropriate for "Investigators". The course I took should have been titled "for Crime Analysts". That would have lowered my hopes and expectations of learning something useful. Very little of the course was actually applicable to detectives. If the intent is to include detectives, examples of companies who use Excel, like Snapchat and Cash App, should be used to teach from. We spent the least amount of time on the most important part of the course, which was the second half of the second day. There should be a one page cheat sheet with formulas so we know what it should look like. Several times the instructor was demonstrating a formula and performed it wrong which made a difficult subject even harder to learn. Clearly, the instructor knows more than I about using Excel for Law Enforcement but he did not present confidently. This is a difficult course to teach and the instructor HAS TO BE on his "A Game". I MAYBE pulled one or two techniques that I could use but by the time that opportunity presents itself, I will have already forgotten the material.

I have already used some of the information that was shared in the course. Will definitely attend more when available.

Great class, Instructor explained the information well and having spreadsheets for the students to practice as he went through was very helpful.

Some good skills taught

It was unclear what level of excel experience was designed for. It was pretty basic but there is a lot of basic features excel has that would be nice to briefly cover at the beginning of the class. Go over the different toolbar options and functions, how to size cells and create a basic data chart. Then once the basic overview is done, then go into formulas.

The course was difficult to follow at times and didn't flow well. It may have been because it was virtual. We also wasted time with introductions each day which could have been spent on covering more and actually using Excel. I did learn a couple things I can use but overall I wouldn't recommend this class.

This was an excellent course. I've been trying for literally years to get into a "not basic" or more advanced excel course. This fit the bill perfectly. I learned a great deal that I'll be able to apply at work. Thanks so much for hosting it.

Great course, I will likely attend again, as its a lot of information, and would require a lot of playing with to remember and feel confident with the ins and outs. I feel much more confident in just the one class, but would like to get more training.
