The Value of this course is a rated at a 3 mostly due to it being more of an introductory course, and it seems to be advertised as a little more than an introductory course. I have had a similar course to this, and even though I took some tricks of the trade back with me, I do feel that the fees associated with this course were just ok in relation to what I learned.

I took an 8 hour online course through HIDTA for a much lower rate and learned nearly the same information provided in this class

The class was informative but unfortunately, the material learned will rarely be able to be used in a local dope unit like ours.

This was an excellent class and the instructor was great; however, two days is not enough time to get a full understanding of the course.

The instructor was very knowledgeable, but the material covered was EXTREMELY too basic. This course was suited for someone with ZERO base knowledge of the internet, computers, or computer related investigations. I did take away a few things from the course and I would recommend it to other investigators in my office who have little or no knowledge of computer crimes, the dark web, or computer basics.

The course description reads that students will learn how to comprehend each level of the web and then reads that it uncovers criminal offenses and investigative techniques associated with the dark web. The class went over the TOR browser briefly and the instructor posted three websites and stated play around with those. The rest of the class, if felt, was directly related to security risks and how to maybe get your department to allow you access to the dark/deep web. There was no real time navigation or practical application of how to navigate or use the dark/deep web for investigative purposes other than Crimes Against Children stings/operations.

I felt like there was a lot of going over what were going to and not going to learn (half of the first day) and then only touched on actually navigating the dark web. The second day was good. The first day was not as informative. Instructor seemed very knowledgeable.

I felt this was a good introduction to the Dark Web, and how it works. I would be interested in a more in depth look at the dark web, its various interfaces, and what else we can do as law enforcement proactively using the dark web.

Instructor Made the course. Extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter and had a genuine interest in it. Walked away with fundamental understanding of subject.
