As a heads up, there was many typos and grammatical errors in the PowerPoint and in the booklet/materials we were provided. Overall, I felt like a good portion of this training was reading definitions off to us. It would have been much more effective if it was more hands-on. In my opinion, the teaching style was not very effective - I think there are more effective ways this topic could have been presented to us. In the end, I'm not even entirely sure what I learned. And I don't remember any of it having to do with writing, except for the definitions of LOUO, LES, etc. Also, so many of the resources given to us were specifically for Arizona. However, at least half of the students in the class were from outside Arizona. It would have been helpful to know generally what resources are out there so we know whether it's even available in our state and, if so, where we can find it.

While there was a hesitancy to teach writing skills because of our different agency directives, that was the goal of the class, so it would have been incredibly helpful to go over effective writing techniques and styles. And maybe show us effective products.

He was good, but most of the powerpoint information he taught may or may not be helpful towards my job.

It was very helpful to learn from some of the experience this instructor had. The links and handouts he provided will be the most useful.

Technical writing is so important. Each field uses a different writing style. Learning to communicate in the most effective way is what keeps agencies rolling along.

Chris did a good job teaching the class, but it was just so much at a high level and felt rushed.
