This class taught me many new tricks and skills to use in my everyday jobs with excel.

Great for total newbies, but it was far below my level of Excel.

The class was rescheduled oonce causing me to cancel another training. Then an instructor was sent who had not been originally assigned which was obvious. I am sure she is very knowledgeable, but her material didn't match our material which caused confusion. Also this class was scheduled for multiple days, but there didn't seem to be enough for us to do each day. The class could have been taught in one day unless there is more material to be provided. I just don't think the cost and time matched the training. Not the instructors fault, she was very nice and helpful. I would suggest the material and instruction be re-evaluated.

The only thing I would suggest is to have more exercises that reinforce the use of the Excel.

Georgia informed us early on that she filled in for the regular instructor, who had a personal emergency. The fact that she had to teach a class she had never taught before became a bit of an issue because Georgia was unfamiliar with the material she presented. Because of that, the course did not flow as well as I had hoped. For example, Georgia kept having to stop, read the material and figure out what she was supposed to show us next; then she would proceed. It made the training feel unorganized. I feel like that was a bit unfair not only to us but Georgia. Although she wasn't familiar with the material she was presenting, she WAS familiar with Excel, and she was able to answer everyone's questions. The worksheets and workbooks given to us are easy to follow and are going to be very helpful for me soon. Georgia was a friendly presenter and had a wonderful sense of humor.

I liked the Excel for Public Safety course I took with Police Technical. The material that was taught was relevant and can be used in our day-to-day work. My only concern was with the instructor and it was not entirely her fault. Georgia Cook was substituting for another instructor and the substitution happened last minute. So Mrs. Cook was teaching off of the original instructor's material which made it a bit difficult for her to confidently convey the course to us. She was not as enthusiastic as a previous instructor I had had for PowerPoint for Public Safety. She was a bit dry when speaking to us. We did almost all of the Excel practices in the Police Technical spreadsheet but I wish Mrs. Cook had done more quizzes on the subjects and skills we had learned so we could really put our knowledge to the test and see if we had all truly grasped the concepts being taught. We went through the course material pretty quickly so having quizzes would've given us more time to spend together and learn. But I believe if she had more time to prepare then Mrs. Cook would've done a great job. Because her command of subject was excellent. Mrs. Cook was also understanding when it came to timing and reporting to class. Overall I give the course an A-.

The workbook table of contents page numbers are not correct. I would like to use it as a resource in the future, but without correct page numbers it will be more difficult to lookup topics. I would like to get a PDF or a hardcopy of the workbook when the page numbers in the table of contents is corrected. It would be helpful to have examples that include Call Detail Records with relevant examples, especially since many investigators and analysts will be reviewing those types of records. Exercises where the student has to determine what Excel functions to use to solve a problem would be helpful. The current exercises have use a step-by-step approach where a student could complete the exercise without really understanding the topic.

Please provide for Mac users as their keyboard commands are different than PC Excel commands. Also, for a 2-day basic course on Excel, this was overly pricey when compared to other law enforcement courses.
